Crepe Paper Scabiosa
How to create a gorgeous Scabiosa flower that never dies!
Your Instructor
Welcome. I’m Kelly Grace, founder and creative director of Paper Floral Co., a boutique paper-flower studio based in picturesque Frenchtown, New Jersey.
What started in 2017 with a few art supplies at my kitchen table has blossomed into a creative enterprise that fashions beautiful crepe-paper flowers for weddings, other special events, and home décor. Allow me to share a bit of my journey to bring beauty into the world every day.
I grew up in many places throughout the United States, but forests and lush gardens were never far away. That inspired an early love of crafts, particularly botanical creations. These satisfying pursuits lay dormant for a time … as college, career as an HR analyst, and motherhood took center stage … but the creative impulse was always there.
We all play the hand we’re dealt, and I received a few new cards along the way. Single motherhood and a corporate restructuring became part of my story. So did finding love again and getting engaged. The future was bright, yet my emotions were drawing me into a dark place.
During preparations for my wedding, I discovered a paper-flower tutorial online, and I was intrigued. (I did make my own wedding flowers, but not in paper; I used a material called sola wood.) Two weeks after my wedding, I made my first paper flower … and just kept going. My new craft raised a level of excitement in me that I hadn’t felt in years.
Slowly, the fog lifted. I got my groove back. I had discovered the restorative power of art.
It wasn’t long before paper flowers began to take over the home of my busy blended family. Encouraged by my amazing husband Jim, I found the perfect work studio. It’s a place where the magic happens and where I can share my love of luxury handcrafted flowers through private events and workshops.
Thank you for supporting my small business. My team and I would be honored to make your floral dreams come true.
